How to use Sitecore CleanUp agent to clean Azure PAAS Logs.

Hi Folks -

Was wondering if we could use Sitecore CleanUp agent to clear Azure PAAS Logs. I can cleanup logs in Logs folder using regular expression. But Azure creates Logs in Folder format for each instance that it creates for my WEB APP. So I can not use regular expression to clean up logs inside these run time generated folders.

For example Azure creates following folders

The Logs files reside under these folders. Each folder is created when we have a new instance created by Azure for our Web App

I tried to use following Regex to clean up the log files but it doesnt work.

<remove folder="$(dataFolder)/logs" pattern="RD.*\/.*azure\..*\..*\.txt" maxAge="7.00:00:00" recursive="true" />

the pattern doesnt work, I can create multiple folder attributes with actual folder location init, but that doesnt work as well because folders starting with RD are generated at Runtime.

  • A little late, but this should work:
    <remove folder="D:\home\site\wwwroot\App_Data/logs" pattern="azure.*.txt*" maxAge="10.00:00:00" recursive="true"/>
