Sitecore MVP 2021 applications are open!

Each year, the Sitecore Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Awards recognize individuals with a passion for sharing their knowledge and expertise through active participation in online and offline Sitecore communities.

The well-known categories are:

Technology: An individual with seasoned technical experience who actively participates in online and offline communities to share their knowledge and expertise with developers, marketers, strategists, Sitecore partners, and customers.

Strategy: An individual with a strong understanding of data-driven content marketing and the use of the Sitecore Experience Cloud to drive business results, who loves to share their knowledge and experience with customers, users, and implementation teams.

Ambassador: An individual with a solid knowledge of the latest Sitecore offering who provides value for Sitecore by influencing partners, industry, customers, and decision-makers and provides product feedback, references, and case studies.

Can I become an MVP?

The MVP Program is open for all individuals who work with the Sitecore platform. The key to be nominated is to share your expertise through online and offline channels. This could be by writing blog posts, giving presentations or webinars, or simply being active on our community platform or other channels.

You can watch our webinar where Pablo Peralta with Tamas Varga share the principles, strategies, most common mistakes to avoid, and habits to develop to become an MVP. https://siteco.re/becomemvp

How do I get invited?

Individuals can only get nominated by existing Sitecore MVPs or by Sitecore employees. After you get invited, you can fill in a form that highlights your contributions to the community, providing insights and details for the juries when reviewing your application.

If you do not know any Sitecore MVP or employee who could invite you, please head over to the Community Introduction forum and introduce yourself and showcase what you have done. We want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to highlight their contributions and gets the opportunity to get invited. Be convincing! With the right showcase somebody may invite you!

How do I fill in my application?

After you are invited, you need to create an account, and you can start by completing the MVP application form on the MVP website: https://mvp.sitecore.com/application

Make sure you fill in the form as completely and detailed as possible. All information will be used to review your nomination.

How do I invite or recommend someone?

If you are a current Sitecore MVP, you have already been invited to create an account on our site. Please log in and fill in the details about the person you want to nominate and write your recommendation. If the person is already invited, we will save your recommendation. If you invite someone new, we will send an invitation email describing the process.

What is the deadline for submitting the applications?

The deadline to submit the application is November 30th at 8 pm PST.

What is the timeline of the selection process?

The nomination is open during November. We will review all the nominations and recommendations during December, and we will finalize the award winners in early January. The announcement of the Sitecore MVP Awards will be by the end of January.

Where are the other categories?

As Sitecore is growing in terms of products and technology stack, we want to keep the MVP Program categories clear and transparent. The MVP categories represent how an individual interacts with Sitecore, ensuring that everyone who works with Sitecore and contributes to the Community can become an MVP.

Technology category
The technology category is for everyone that deals with the technical aspects of Sitecore products. This could be in different roles, e.g. back-end or front-end developer, .Net or a JavaScript developer, a technical architect, DevOps engineer, etc. Anyone who usually deals with Sitecore products from a technical angle should apply in the Technology category.

Strategy category
The Strategy category is open to practitioners focused on content and marketing strategies and operations. This individual could be a content strategist, UX strategist, marketer, designer, or any practitioner working with the platform but not focusing on areas such as software development, DevOps, etc.

Ambassador category
This category is for anyone who is focused on Sitecore's business aspect, who has a solid knowledge of the latest Sitecore offerings, who provides value for Sitecore by influencing partners, industry, customers, and decision-makers and who provides product feedback, supplies references, and case studies.
